G&L Tribute L-2500 Black Frost MP Poplar

G&L Tribute L-2500 Black Frost MP Poplar
When Leo Fender released the G&L L-2000 bass in 1980, bassists all over the world asked themselves the question “how did we live before?”. Their bewilderment is natural: never before has one instrument given so many opportunities to find their sound. The L-2500 is its five-string version.
The recipe for the L-2500 is a pair of G&L Magnetic Field Design Tri-Tone controlled humbuckers, and that's where the possibilities really open up. Tri-Tone is designed as follows: three mini-switches for selecting a sensor, serial or parallel connection of sensors and selecting active or passive mode, as well as three controls - volume, treble and bass. With this baggage, the L-2500 is ready to work in any situation: from classic R&B to hard rock and pop funk. And it's all on one instrument. The Saddle-Lock bridge, personally developed by Leo Fender, is also responsible for the groove and signature Jiel sound. The Redburst coloring is a fantasy about California sunsets leaving for the Pacific Ocean, when the heat subsides, and somewhere in the vicinity of Sunset Beach (of course, not only there, but throughout Los Angeles) musicians gather together to take the stage, or just rehearse today.
The Tribute series is the youngest in the G&L lineup. However, they totally nailed it in terms build quality and, importantly, original USA components. Pickups and bridges on all guitars of the Tribute series are exactly the same as on top American instruments.
