Honestly, the SRS808C is one of our favorite models in the entire Maton lineup. The whole Solid Road Series (SRS) is just phenomenal value for money - and the 808C nails that balance between performance and price.
You’re getting a fully solid-wood construction (Sitka spruce top, Blackwood back and sides), the same AP5 Pro pickup system used by Tommy Emmanuel himself, and Maton’s famously comfortable neck and 808 body shape - tight, balanced, and super responsive, especially for fingerstyle or light strumming.
So what are you sacrificing? Mostly just cosmetics. It’s got a satin finish, no flame tops, no flashy bindings or elaborate inlays. It’s not trying to impress visually - but sonically and functionally, it punches way above its weight.
This is the definition of a workhorse guitar - built to perform night after night, session after session, without fuss. If you care about sound, feel, and reliability more than gloss and glitz, the SRS808C is exactly that kind of instrument.
Every guitar in our store is completely checked and set up by our guitar luthiers so that the guitar is easy to play yet without buzz. And if you have any special wishes regarding setup - tell us (or specify) when making an order and we will be happy to make a perfect guitar for you :)
Also, you have to keep in mind that wood is a living material. Guitar’s geometry changes a little over time, adjusting to temperature and humidity, so there is no setup that can last forever. To save you a headache, we have a free setup service for our instruments! If you feel that something is off you can bring it to us so that we can return everything to it’s perfect original state.
For online orders we manually pack each guitar into a ton of wraps and carton and also have full insurance for all our shippings. So that you wouldn’t worry that something might happen on the way.
