The EM100C 808 is Maton’s flagship reborn in a smaller, more focused body shape - the 808. Still bearing the tongue-in-cheek “Messiah” name, this model is built with the same classic tonewood formula: solid Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. It’s a familiar recipe for fans of the Martin D-28, known for its deep, rounded lows and articulate highs.
But here, the smaller 808 body tightens the bass response and brings out more midrange detail, making it perfect for fingerstyle players or anyone who wants clarity without sacrificing warmth. The cutaway adds upper fret access, and the AP5 Pro pickup system ensures it sounds just as good plugged in.
It’s everything the full-size Messiah offers - just in a more compact, focused package. A little less boom, a little more nuance, and still proudly preaching the gospel of great tone.
Every guitar in our store is completely checked and set up by our guitar luthiers so that the guitar is easy to play yet without buzz. And if you have any special wishes regarding setup - tell us (or specify) when making an order and we will be happy to make a perfect guitar for you :)
Also, you have to keep in mind that wood is a living material. Guitar’s geometry changes a little over time, adjusting to temperature and humidity, so there is no setup that can last forever. To save you a headache, we have a free setup service for our instruments! If you feel that something is off you can bring it to us so that we can return everything to it’s perfect original state.
