The Maton EM100C Messiah is anything but modest - despite the name. As Maton’s flagship model, “Messiah” might sound like a bold claim, but the guitar lives up to the title with tone and craftsmanship to match. Think of it as Maton’s tongue-in-cheek answer to the Martin faithful - a guitar that borrows from classic American tradition while speaking with a distinctly Australian accent.
Unlike most of Maton’s lineup, which often features native Australian tonewoods, the EM100C uses the time-honored combo of a solid Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. This pairing, famously found on guitars like the Martin D-28, delivers a full, rounded tone - rich in overtones, with a tight low end and a sparkling high register.
Add a cutaway for upper-fret access, a Queensland maple neck, and the trusted AP5 Pro pickup system, and you've got a stage-ready instrument with both heritage and attitude. Classic woods, modern Aussie soul.
Every guitar in our store is completely checked and set up by our guitar luthiers so that the guitar is easy to play yet without buzz. And if you have any special wishes regarding setup - tell us (or specify) when making an order and we will be happy to make a perfect guitar for you :)
Also, you have to keep in mind that wood is a living material. Guitar’s geometry changes a little over time, adjusting to temperature and humidity, so there is no setup that can last forever. To save you a headache, we have a free setup service for our instruments! If you feel that something is off you can bring it to us so that we can return everything to it’s perfect original state.
