Take the EM100C 808, remove the cutaway, and what you’re left with is the EM100 808 Messiah - a guitar that keeps things clean, symmetrical, and entirely devoted to tone. Like its siblings, it’s still Maton’s cheekily named top-shelf model, built with solid Sitka spruce on top and Indian rosewood on the back and sides—an unmistakable nod to vintage American acoustics like the Martin D-28.
The non-cutaway 808 body offers a slightly more traditional playing feel while emphasizing resonance and sustain. It’s especially appealing to players who don’t need the upper fret access and prefer the aesthetic (and sonic) benefits of a full-body design.
Warm, articulate, and incredibly responsive, the EM100 808 Messiah is a refined instrument that mixes Aussie craftsmanship with time-tested materials. No frills, no flash - just pure, focused sound. If the cutaway is optional, the tone definitely isn’t.
Every guitar in our store is completely checked and set up by our guitar luthiers so that the guitar is easy to play yet without buzz. And if you have any special wishes regarding setup - tell us (or specify) when making an order and we will be happy to make a perfect guitar for you :)
Also, you have to keep in mind that wood is a living material. Guitar’s geometry changes a little over time, adjusting to temperature and humidity, so there is no setup that can last forever. To save you a headache, we have a free setup service for our instruments! If you feel that something is off you can bring it to us so that we can return everything to it’s perfect original state.
